The Labour Court recommended higher relocation payments for Bolands Mills workers moving from Barrow Street: £2,500 for warehouse moves and £1,250 for mill moves. It also recommended raising the redundancy package from three and a half to four weeks' pay per service year, with an overall effect of about six weeks per year. The recommendation was dated 1 June 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had argued that the proposed redundancy package was too low and sought more than seven weeks' pay per service year without a ceiling. The Court also recommended compensation equal to twice the annual loss of overtime earnings for four affected employees, once the loss was identified.
