The Labour Court recommended no change to Carton Brothers' redundancy package for five planned job losses at its offal rendering plant in Shercock. The recommendation was signed on 26 May 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought improved redundancy terms and compensation for two supervisors losing guaranteed Saturday overtime. The Court recommended that the overtime loss be reviewed after six months and any financial loss compensated at one and a half times the annual loss. For a worker moving from full-time to part-time work, the Court recommended that the parties agree a suitable compensation arrangement.
