Labour Court calls for talks on Teagasc Farm Foreman rate, rejects Garden Supervisor claim

The Labour Court recommended that Teagasc put its proposed Farm Foreman grade to the union for discussion, with any unresolved dispute referred back to the Court. It did not find sufficient arguments to concede a separate Garden Supervisor pay claim. The recommendation was signed on 26 May 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought the Farm Foreman rate for a Garden Supervisor and restoration of the previous Farm Foreman rate. The Court said the proposed grade should have been discussed with the union before implementation.
