Labour Court recommends changes in local government restructuring dispute

In 2000, the Labour Court recommended changes to a local government modernisation framework and said a pay increase claim was precluded by the pay agreement. The recommendation was dated 10 May 2000. The parties were the Local Government Management Services Board (LGMSB), the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union, and the Institute of Engineers of Ireland. The Court also recommended fair and equitable access to acting-up opportunities, reimbursement of professional membership fees when required for a post, and local discussions on implementation.
