In 2000, the Labour Court recommended against claims by five unions for profit-sharing and an employee share scheme before a flotation of Cantrell & Cochrane. The recommendation was dated 9 May 2000. The unions were the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union, Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union, Manufacturing, Science, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Administrative Union of Ireland, and Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union. The Court cited the company's debt and recommended that the unions pursue its commitment to provide for an employee share option scheme if flotation occurred.
