In 2000, the Labour Court recommended changes to overtime and meal allowance arrangements at Donegal Creameries, along with a 2% Partnership 2000 increase from September 1999, conditional on acceptance of the comprehensive agreement and the Court's proposals. The recommendation was signed on 7 April 2000. The Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union and the company disputed overtime calculations, the £6 weekly meal allowance and the pay increase. The Court recommended retaining red-circled daily overtime payments, defining the weekly-hours period as Monday to Friday where relevant, and compensating current meal-allowance recipients at twice their individual annual loss.
