The Labour Court recommended that Sunday World and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union negotiate compensation for 14 workers who lost Friday and Saturday overtime after a new day shift was introduced. The Court found the parties had negotiated at cross purposes about the shift’s effect and that the workers would suffer a significant loss of earnings. It recommended a compensation package in line with the company’s normal formula. The recommendation was signed on 23 March 2000.
