The Labour Court recommended that chief technicians at Trinity College Dublin accept the college’s offer to discuss their annual-leave claim when an appropriate mechanism under a national agreement is available. The recommendation was dated 10 March 2000.

The Irish Federation Of University Teachers had sought 29 days of annual leave for the technicians, whose existing entitlement was 21 days. The college’s earlier proposal to increase leave to 24 days had not received approval from its funding authority.
