The Labour Court decided that Trustee Savings Bank’s interpretation of its 1992 agreement on Grade 3 promotions was correct. The decision was dated 10 March 2000. The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union, Mandate and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that the agreement preserved Grade 3 as a promotional route. The Court said employees in Cork and Limerick could not have expected Grade 3 promotion because it had been discontinued there before 1992.
