Labour Court recommends pay settlement within Foundation proposal

In 1999, the Labour Court recommended a settlement within the management proposal in a pay dispute between Children's Medical & Research Foundation and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The union sought Health Service rates and structured pay scales for three staff grades, arguing the Foundation's work was associated with Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin. The Foundation said it received no government grant and funded salaries through fundraising. After a hearing on 17 November, the Court found no merit in the union's claim for Health Board rates. It recommended that a settlement be found within the parameters of management's March 1999 proposal. The recommendation was signed on 25 November 1999.
