The Labour Court recommended pay increases, revised Sunday and public-holiday premiums and a Christmas bonus in a dispute between Hickey & Company Limited and Mandate. It also said a pension scheme should be considered, but deferred further discussion for 12 months because of the company’s financial circumstances. The Court recommended payment of the increase due under clause 3 of PESP retrospectively from 1 October 1998, in return for the company’s proposed productivity measures, and payment of the 2% Partnership 2000 increase from the date of the claim. It also recommended accepting 1995 as the start date for revised Sunday and public-holiday premiums, with a Christmas bonus in return. The recommendation was signed on 22 November 1999.
