The Labour Court recommended that workers associated with the claim accept Trinity College Dublin’s proposals for more flexible deployment of attendants between buildings. The recommendation was signed on 23 September 1999. The dispute arose from a pay package for about 350 general operatives and related grades, offered in return for six productivity measures. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought protection for five attendants whose work had been limited to particular buildings, while accepting deployment in emergencies. The Court said flexibility was part of the pay agreement.
