The Labour Court did not recommend concession of Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for travel, boot and shirt allowances for about 110 Group 4 Securitas security guards in Limerick. The recommendation was signed on 21 September 1999. The Court said the parties appeared to have negotiated the 1994 agreement at cross purposes. It noted that other areas had agreed to abolish the allowances and said it appeared unlikely the company would have agreed to retain them in Limerick.
