Labour Court recommends talks on Irish Ale Breweries pension improvements

The Labour Court recommended that Irish Ale Breweries and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union negotiate pension arrangements for 37 workers at the Ballyfermot depot. The recommendation was signed on 4 August 1999. The union sought to include operating and early-start allowances in pensionable pay. The Court considered the claim inadmissible under the applicable agreements because existing arrangements were in line with comparable employments. It said the proposed improvement was not unreasonable and recommended negotiations satisfactory to both parties.
