In 1999, the Labour Court recommended that the Department Of Education & Science and the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union return a dispute over a worker’s job security and rate of pay to conciliation. It said negotiations should continue for no more than one month, after which unresolved issues could return to the Court for an early hearing. The recommendation was signed on 2 July 1999.
