The Labour Court recommended accepting the Hospitaller Order Of St. John Of God’s proposal on compensation for loss of private practice. On accumulated rest days, it declined to recommend a concession beyond the existing arrangement but urged the parties to explore the Order’s offer to examine one case in particular circumstances. The recommendation was signed on 10 May 1999. The dispute was brought by the Irish Hospital Consultants' Association and concerned compensation for loss of private practice and accumulated rest days.
