The Labour Court recommended placing three cooks formerly employed by An Foras Taluntais on the maximum point of the ACOT cook's scale from 1 June 1994, and setting up a review group to assess their work against other Teagasc staff. It recommended that the parties agree a rate for the chef, calculated back to the same date. The recommendation was dated 16 April 1999. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought Health Board pay scales based on length of service and a review of the workers' duties and pay. Teagasc proposed placing the cooks on the maximum ex-ACOT scale and the chef on the minimum Head Cook scale, and opposed a review group.
