The Labour Court recommended a framework for negotiations on pay and conditions between P & O Ferrymasters (Rosslare) and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was dated 7 April 1999. It recommended a graded salary structure based on duties and comparable work, with an identifiable salary element for permanent shift work. The Court also recommended applying the 2% local bargaining element at the Rosslare depot six months after the second phase of the agreement, and negotiating pension cover. It recommended no change to weekend overtime arrangements.
