Labour Court recommends Sunday pay talks for ISS cleaning staff

By Rory Hanlon

Historic decision · Decision date:

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

In 1999, the Labour Court recommended that Iss Cleaning Services (Cork) and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union meet to agree a Sunday-work rate for staff cleaning railway carriages at Kent Station, Cork. The union sought higher pay, more annual leave and Sunday double time. The Court also recommended discussion of the omitted Christmas bonus, but did not recommend the union's other claims, finding insufficient evidence of increased productivity under Partnership 2000. The recommendation was dated 22 March 1999.
