In 1999, the Labour Court noted that seven carpenters on temporary lay-off could resume work for John Sisk And Son Limited when it needed directly employed carpenters. It also recommended paying them a bonus up to the date they last worked in December 1998. The recommendation was dated 9 March 1999. The Building And Allied Trades Union had sought re-employment, restoration of a bonus and compensation for lost earnings. The Court did not recommend concession of the loss-of-earnings claim. It also noted the company's assurance that any bonus amount due for holiday pay would be paid.
