The Labour Court recommended that a Dublin Dental Hospital librarian be placed on Grade V from 1 January 1999, without an open competition. The recommendation, dated 1 March 1999, also said the worker should keep her librarian title and remain in library work. The Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union sought the higher grade, citing changes to the worker’s duties. The hospital had argued that she lacked the qualifications required for Grade V. The Court cited her long service and exemplary performance in recommending the placement.
