Labour Court rejects Dublin Bus union claim for Route 52 drivers' severance

In 1999, the Labour Court did not recommend voluntary severance for three Dublin Bus drivers after Route 52 was eliminated in July 1998. The claim was brought by the National Bus And Rail Union under an agreement linked to feeder routes. The Court accepted that Route 52 was a feeder route but found the agreement did not extend to these employees. The union argued that an extension of Route 3 reduced Route 52 passenger numbers; Dublin Bus said the elimination did not meet the agreement's criteria.
