Labour Court recommends facilitator for Fulflex and SIPTU dispute

The Labour Court recommended that Fulflex International and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union appoint an outside facilitator by 31 January 1999 to address a breakdown in workplace negotiations. The recommendation was signed on 11 January 1999. The dispute covered local bargaining, pension indexation and other issues. Fulflex said the union would not meet with a particular manager; the union said management had misled it over a Partnership 2000 payment. The Court said the disagreement over meetings was blocking negotiations on the other issues, and recommended that unresolved matters could be referred back after three months with the facilitator.
