Labour Court recommends Ballymount seek way to deduct union dues

In 1998, the Labour Court recommended that Ballymount Precision Engineering Limited find a way to deduct union dues from employees' wages and remit them to the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union. The recommendation was dated 1 December. The union said the issue remained unresolved after the parties agreed in principle on a recognition and procedural agreement. The company cited the administrative workload involved in deductions at source.
