In 1998, the Labour Court recommended further steps in a regrading dispute between University College Dublin and the Irish Federation Of University Teachers. The union said an earlier recommendation to assess the worker’s post had not been implemented and sought a recommendation on her grade. The College said the points range for the new Administrative Officer 1A grade had not been agreed. The Court said it was not appropriate for it to recommend which grade the employee should hold. Signed on 30 November 1998, it recommended that the College review her position if the points range remained unsettled by 1 March 1999. It also recommended urgent guidance on appealing a grading assessment, with the committee to be convened if necessary.
