Labour Court recommends rostering nurses to make up course earnings

The Labour Court recommended that South Eastern Health Board make every effort to roster nurses who came off night duty for courses so they could make up their earnings. It did not recommend travel-time credit or premium pay for nights not worked. The Psychiatric Nurses Association said travel to a five-day course added 12.5 hours to the week and that some nurses lost about £30 per night in premium earnings. The Court's recommendation was dated 23 October 1998.
