The Labour Court recommended that Cahill May Roberts increase by the Consumer Price Index the money held under agreements with two workers who had moved from full-time to part-time work. The recommendation was dated 8 October 1998. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought five weeks’ pay per year of service for the workers’ full employment, arguing that an earlier recommendation applied. Cahill May Roberts said the existing agreements remained in force and guaranteed the balance due if further redundancy occurred. The Court said it could not recommend applying the improved conditions, but recommended increasing the held money by the CPI for the period it was held.
