The Labour Court recommended £1,500 compensation for a worker it found was unfairly dismissed by Graham O’Sullivan Limited, in a recommendation dated 6 August 1998. The worker, who had been employed as a deputy supervisor, was blamed for a missing cash lodgement and dismissed without notice. The Court found that no investigation had been carried out and that she had no opportunity to defend herself. It also recommended that the company provide a reference recording her satisfactory performance and promotion before her dismissal.
