In 1998, the Labour Court recommended one Grade E promotional post and £1,000 for each of the two unsuccessful applicants in a dispute over extra duties after Maxol Limited left the Drogheda supervisor's post vacant. The decision was dated 29 July 1998. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the three workers faced additional duties and sought regrading; Maxol said agreements allowed vacancies to remain unfilled. The Court cited agreements since 1983 and Partnership 2000, and recommended implementing the formula reached at conciliation.
