The Labour Court recommended that Musgraves Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union restart negotiations over a possible additional bonus for workers at the Cork depot. The recommendation was dated 20 July 1998. The union sought a £12 weekly increase for about 60 workers. Cork workers had rejected an offer of £8 per week plus a Partnership 2000 payment, which workers in Dublin accepted. The Court found that the 7am opening arrangement at the Cork outlet had not been evaluated in the company’s proposal and could provide a basis for an additional increase. It recommended that the parties resume negotiations on that issue.
