The Labour Court recommended that Thermo-King Europe Limited (Galway) and the Amalgamated Engineering And Electrical Union negotiate improvements to the existing share purchase scheme and explore a partnership arrangement. The union had sought a goodwill payment for more than 500 workers after the global sale of Thermo-King Corporation. The recommendation was dated 9 July 1998.
