The Labour Court recommended on 24 June 1998 that Pecunia Enterprises Limited offer re-employment to a clerical officer it dismissed from its call centre. The worker had a month to take up the offer. The worker had been dismissed after a customer complained that she had not received her insurance certificates. The company said he mishandled the transaction and was grossly negligent; the worker said the dismissal was unfair. The Court found that a customer transaction had been mishandled, but said it was unclear what happened after the worker took the original call. Citing a lack of concrete evidence and the worker’s age and inexperience, it was not satisfied with the manner of his dismissal. The worker was represented by Agemou Trade Group.
