Labour Court recommends changes to Trinity College library staff offer

In 1998, the Labour Court recommended amendments to Trinity College's offer in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over pay and conditions for 52 library assistants. The Court said the modified package should be accepted. The changes included effective dates for pay increases and increasing Executive I posts to 12. Executive II posts had already increased to 14. The Court also urged the union to reconsider its position on transfers, which it considered fair and consistent with normal industrial relations practice. The number of library assistants, graduate recruitment and early retirement remained for local discussion.
