The Labour Court recommended on 23 June 1998 that Trinity College amend its offer in a dispute with the Library Staff Association over pay and conditions for 34 library assistants. The Court considered the amended package reasonable. The recommended changes included pay increases and more Executive I posts. The Court also urged the union to reconsider its position on transfers, which had been addressed in an earlier recommendation. Library assistant numbers, graduate recruitment and early retirement remained for local discussion. The Association had accepted the earlier transfer recommendation subject to amendments.
