In 1998, the Labour Court found no basis to concede the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union’s claim for a 50% premium for a proposed four-shift cycle at Oral B Laboratories; it said 33.3% applied. The recommendation was signed on 22 June. The company said 33.3% was the industry rate and that employees breached the House Agreement by not working under protest while the dispute went through procedures. The Court also said the failure to work under protest breached the agreement and was not in accordance with good industrial relations.
