In 1998, the Labour Court recommended that Olympia Theatre make good retrospective pay increases due under the final phase of the Programme for Competitiveness and Work. The parties were to meet and agree how the payment would be made. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the final phase had not been paid when due. Olympia Theatre said it believed all phases had been paid, but its records for the period were incomplete. The Court accepted the union’s argument that the increase was due from December 1995. The recommendation was dated 17 April 1998.
