In 1998, the Labour Court did not recommend that Acc Bank concede Amalgamated Transport And General Workers' Union’s claim to increase mileage payments to offset tax deductions for 13 workers. The Court left Acc Bank’s proposed buy-out of travel expenses to the parties. The workers were four security officers and nine computer operators who travelled outside normal hours for shifts or emergency call-outs. The recommendation was signed on 30 January 1998.
