In 1998, the Labour Court recommended against conceding the Irish Nurses' Organisation's claim for an expanded tutor package at Temple St/Holles St Hospital. The union sought regrading, an allowance, additional leave and educational assistance for nurse tutors in paediatric and midwifery areas. The hospital, represented by the Irish Business and Employers' Confederation, said the Blue Book Agreement and Labour Court Recommendation LCR15450 had settled outstanding nursing pay issues. The Court said the Blue Book and related recommendation, along with a commission examining nursing issues, did not justify recommending concession. Its recommendation was signed on 30 January 1998.
