The Labour Court found that a project manager was unfairly dismissed by Weave Country Cottage Industries Ltd and recommended £5,000 compensation. The recommendation, signed on 1 October 1997, followed her referral under the Industrial Relations Act, 1969; the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union represented her. The employer said she had failed to carry out the project’s objectives. The union said no concerns about her performance had been raised during probation. The Court said the evidence did not support the employer’s contention that she was fairly dismissed. The parties had also agreed to meet to determine documented expenses due to her.
