Labour Court recommends ward-sister rate for Adelaide Hospital cardiology nurses

The Labour Court recommended that Adelaide Hospital pay two job-sharing cardiology nurse specialists the ward-sister rate on a red-circle basis, pending the Commission on Nursing’s findings. The recommendation was signed on 30 September 1997. The Irish Nurses' Organisation had sought the same grade for the nurses as a diabetic nurse specialist who was upgraded in 1994. The hospital supported the claim in principle but said it was bound by Department of Health regulations. The Court recommended that the arrangement be regularised after the Commission’s findings.
