In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that the Central Bank Of Ireland concede an 8% pay increase for a mint supervisor, effective from 1 June. Manufacturing, Science, Finance said the supervisor's salary had tracked machine staff increases and that new presses had added responsibilities. The Bank said his duties were substantially unchanged and offered 4%. The Court cited differing interpretations of a salary agreement and took the claimant's age into account. The recommendation was signed on 25 September 1997.
