The Labour Court recommended that Procabs pay a base controller one day’s outstanding pay and one week’s pay in lieu of notice, and provide her P45. The recommendation was dated 9 September 1997. The worker, employed in the company’s mini-cab business for about six weeks, said she had been locked out and owed a day’s pay. The company denied a lock-out and said it closed because of business failure. The Court said the termination was probably necessary but badly handled.
