In 1997, the Labour Court made further recommendations in a dispute between Irish Life PLC and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over restructuring field sales roles. The Court said the new information did not alter its original recommendation. It recommended that the company finalise its position on corporate agencies, examine exceptional individual losses sympathetically and reaffirm that staff unable to make the transition could return to the personal financial adviser role. The Court also recommended that the parties agree a way to conduct further discussions. The recommendation was dated 1 September 1997.
