The Labour Court recommended that any future redundancies at Wace Specialist Printers Limited be negotiated with the Dublin Printing Group Of Unions, with both sides taking account of Recommendation LCR15071. The recommendation, dated 25 August 1997, concerned about 150 workers. The unions had sought a commitment to minimum redundancy terms after the company sold its Rathfarnham premises and arranged to lease them back while seeking an alternative. The company said it did not envisage redundancies and that any future terms should be negotiated if they arose. The Court also raised concerns about mistrust and communication between management and staff.
