On 14 July 1997, the Labour Court recommended a once-off payment of £700 per worker at Nestle (Ireland) Limited as part of revised production arrangements. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought changes to sick pay and a £1,000 net lump sum. The Court also recommended improving the sick pay proposal through discussions and continuing efforts to encourage workers to move to Paypath, in return for employees accepting and implementing the AVA/TOP proposals.
