In 1997, the Labour Court did not recommend compensation for about 25 workers who said they lost 16 hours' pay after Bus Eireann - Limerick cancelled St Stephen's Day services. The recommendation was signed on 1 July 1997. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and National Bus and Rail Union argued that workers expected to be rostered. The Court said future changes should be conveyed to employees as early as possible.
