In 1997, the Labour Court recommended no compensation for a ward attendant at Listowel District Hospital who lost premium payments after returning from a career break to day duty. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought compensation for the period before her previous roster was restored. The Southern Health Board said management had tried to accommodate her return and that the union had objected to her inclusion on the roster. The Court was satisfied management had done all it could and issued its recommendation on 9 June 1997.
