The Labour Court recommended that Securicor Security Services and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss a quid pro quo for payment of the remaining 1.5% under Clause 3 of PESP. The recommendation was signed on 14 May 1997. About 40 officers were involved in the dispute. An interim 1.5% payment had been agreed while the remaining balance was referred to the Court. The staff continued barrier duties and ATM cash replenishment under protest pending its consideration.
