The Labour Court did not recommend conceding three pay claims made by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union against Virginia Milk Products. It signed its recommendation on 2 May 1997. The claims sought higher rates for working rest days, double time for overtime between midnight and 8am, and an increase in the night-shift premium for 12 workers from 27% to 33⅓%. The Court said the claims would increase costs and were barred by the no-cost-increase terms of the PCW and Partnership 2000.
