The Labour Court recommended that J R Murphy & Sons pay a worker £500 in full and final settlement after finding his dismissal from his off-licence assistant job at The Finglas Inn was out of proportion to his actions. The recommendation was dated 2 May 1997. The worker said he could not work an evening shift because of a prior commitment and was told he no longer had a job. J R Murphy & Sons said his performance and conduct had been unsatisfactory and the shift dispute followed earlier problems.
